Kimber's Next Gen Custom Two-Tone pairs a matte stainless steel frame with a slide and barrel in matte black KimPro II. It is a full-size single-action 1911 in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel, 8.6 inches overall and 36.2 ounces. The grips are walnut with G10 inlays, the trigger is Kimber's GT Performance unit, and the thumb safety is ambidextrous. The sights are fixed, with a red dot on the front blade, and an RMR adapter plate is included for a compatible optic. Two magazines ship with it; listed capacity is 7+1.

In Massachusetts a handgun purchase runs on the License to Carry, which comes from your local police chief and is the license most buyers hold. There is no waiting period and no separate permit; the dealer looks at your LTC in person, runs the federal check and enters the transfer in the state portal. The optics plate sets this Kimber apart for a buyer who wants a traditional 1911 now and a red dot later.
