Savage's Mark II TR is a bolt-action .22 LR, right-handed only, built around a 22-inch heavy barrel in carbon steel and a hardwood varmint-style stock. It is a substantial rifle for its chambering at 7.5 pounds and 40 inches long, which is the point: the mass holds steady on a bench or over a bipod. The AccuTrigger adjusts to the pull weight you prefer, the three-position safety gives a middle setting for working the bolt, and ammunition comes from a five-round detachable box. The metal is finished blue over black furniture.

Massachusetts keeps rifles out of the deer woods entirely, so a precision .22 here is for paper, steel and small game, and the Mark II TR is set up for exactly that. The heavy barrel and stiff stock reward careful shooters at club rimfire matches, and a bolt action pairs naturally with an FID card for buyers who do not hold a License to Carry. Five-round magazines keep reloads quick on a timed stage.
